F.A.Q.
What is Blueprint?
Blueprint's Continuum of Care are programs run by HRDC providing housing, resources, and support for youth experiencing moments of homelessness or housing instability. The BOAR is Blueprint's largest fundraiser and helps HRDC continue to provide critical care for youth in our community.
What should I bring?
The BOAR is an adventure so plan to get dirty, muddy, and wet! It's suggested to bring a pair of flip-flops, a change of clothing, and a towel for after the race. We are a cupless event so bring a water bottle - we will have water to fill up on site.
Can I skip an obstacle?
Yes, the BOAR is an all levels race and the only requirement is to have fun! If there is an obstacle you do not want to participate in, there will be an optional challenge for you to complete (eg. jumping jacks) or you are welcome to skip it entirely.
How far is the BOAR?
There are two courses you can choose from our 1k (about .62 of a mile) and our 5k (about 3.1 miles)
Can I get a refund?
We do not offer refunds at this time but you are welcome to find a friend or family member to take your place!
Can I bring my dog to the BOAR?
Unfortunately, while we love your furry friend as much as the next race organizers, dogs are not allowed on the course. It's best to leave them at home for the morning.
What's the terrain of the course?
The terrain of the course will be mainly hard dirt with uneven ground at times as well as .
Can I push my child in a stroller (1K only)?
The 1K course will be designed to include people using strollers. We do encourage you to make sure the stroller can handle the terrain prior to the event.
Are individuals with crutches, canes, or wheelchairs able to do the 1K?
Yes. However, we encourage everyone to have a support team to aid them along the race course.
Are individuals with crutches, canes, or wheelchairs able to do the 5K?
No, due to the length, time restrictions, and narrowness of the course at points. Adaptive athletes are welcome, please contact ehamburg@thehrdc.org if you have further questions.
Is there a limit to how big my team can be?
No, the limit does not exist. Make sure to keep an eye out for our fun team prizes like best costumes and team name!
Team Registration and Start Times?
